ST Related stuff

Partially to get the rant post off my page...

First of all, I'm modeling Miranda in Maya, to practice a lot of stuff I'm not used to, and to make a basic human character base. Because that's seriously a pretty darn useful thing to have. BTW, Hair is evil.

Second, I wanted to offer an explanation for the lack of updates.

First of all, no, I've not stopped writing it. XD So don't worry. I know that this is what TvTropes considers to be the death knell of a fanfic, but I've already sworn to myself I will finish this if it takes me into my fifties, though I hope it won't be that long. And when I DO finish it, I will go to ST's TvTropes page and add the Trope "Dead Fic" with the description of "SUBVERTED NUMEROUS TIMES." And that will be my personal Crowning Moment of Awesome.  

Now, onto explanation.

I've been fighting with these recent chapters, trying to struggle through plots that seemed to hold so much dead wait and pointlessness...

You see, the problem is I just can't keep up the eight-to-ten parallels a chapter that I've done thus far. I'm comparing a story of two weeks to the equivalent of YEARS. It just isn't going to happen.

So, when inspiration recently struck and after a thumbs up on the idea from some people whose opinion I trust, I've reached a decision.

Spanning Time is being split into three parts. The first part, "The Nature of Trust," finishes with Chapter 8. Part Two, "The Nature of Friendship" will begin with Chapter 9. And part 2 will be taking a bit of a different tactic, but I'll let you guys see what that is when I get there. I'll just put it this way, though. Parallels will still be there, but much, much broader, with less of the jumping between that we saw in Part 1. But I'm hoping to get back to that with Part 3 "The Nature of Resolve," when the timelines aren't as grossly disproportionate.

Chapter 9, meanwhile, is coming along fairly well, I think.
