Three Months and other Thoughts

Journal Entry: Sat Jul 5, 2008, 4:15 PM
Current Project Status: [link]

Within five hours, my account will be three months old. And I have only one thing to say:

Holy crap.

I can already tell how far I've come. And it's been a long way. It utterly, utterly astounds me. I've seen what people define as "uknown artists," they say it's under 5000 pageviews, and have special features for art with under 50 faves... On the whole, I agree with this ([link]) interpretation of such things anyway, but I have this point to make anyway:

By a lot of people's definitions, I am what's called an "unknown" artist.

But I don't feel like it.

I don't feel like an unknown artist. I feel very known. I don't understand how artists with 30 or 40 faves per deviation can call themselves underexposed or unknown. First of all, that's not the point. The point here is to be a part of the community. And for the circle of people who view my works as I view theirs, I feel, on the whole, very much a part of the community. I don't know why they feel underexposed, or unknown. I just can't fathom it. The most I can say is that I wish one or two particular people looked at my gallery and commented on it, simply because I respect their opinion and would like to know what they think, but other than that, I feel happy with the relatively small amount of attention I'm getting now. And I don't feel unknown. I don't quite know how to fully explain it. This may just be a brain "hairball" that needs to get out.

I'm not uknown. I don't know how people can call me that.

In other news, my brain has come up with yet ANOTHER PMD2 fic for me to work on. This one is multi-chapter as well, probably longer than Spanning Time, and will not be started until Spanning Time is, or at least until I feel reasonably sure I can work on both at the same time.

This fic would include Team Calliope, Miranda and Chlora, after the plot AFTER THE CREDITS is over, essentially after you can get to Marine Resort and so on. And they will play a major role in the plot. However, the plot will not center around their perspective at all, but rather around the perspective of an entirely new team.

Problem is I need a team.

At this point, I'm just puzzling with ideas, but I'm open to suggestions if you want them. Heck, if I feel like it, I may even do a contest in the future for a profile for this team. However, I've got a few guidelines for this team that I've already set up in my head.

1. Two or three members (I'm leaning towards three, actually)
2. They'll be joining the Wigglytuff guild as apprentices shortly after the start of the fic
3. No Legendaries or unusual Pokemon; I'm rather fond of the basic PMD and PMD2 starters actually, although I wouldn't mind something else that's not quite so unusual as say.. an Absol? I dunno. They just need to look the part of apprentices.
4. Personal histories must be minor. I really need to have all the characters work in the present story and not think in the past all the time... Some is okay, but nothing too fancy
5. No humans-turned-Pokemon or Pokemon from the future. The plot doesn't have room for something like that. Besides, Miranda already is our human-turned-Pokemon

So... this is just jotting down some ideas, mainly, but if you want to suggest anything, keep that stuff in mind. I dunno. This fic will be a bit in coming, if it comes to fruition at all... Sometimes these things die halfway through the development process.

Besides, I do need to work on Legends which has been on the waiting list a lot longer...

Anyway....

Thanks for three months of fun, everybody, I hope things continue onward for a long, long time.

~Gorse

I did have a good time. ^^ It was great.

Heh. Good luck. I hope Spanning Time doesn't confuse you too much. If you need any, I know this really thorough video walkthrough on Youtube that I could link you. The PMD2 plot is epic. If you ever do get a DS, I really recommend it.

I've missed talking to you too! Hope to talk to you more soon!

Oh wow...

That is BRILLIANT. I can tell, that's going to help out a lot, particularly with dungeons like Crystal Cave and Crystal Crossing, because large crystal caves as they are seen in the game... It's very, very hard to find real-life equivalents.

Thank you VERY much. ^^

Hey Gorse, I found a pretty good picture that you can use with photomanipulation

[link]

The "Reed Flute Cave". I've been there, and this photo is raw. That means, it had not been photomanipulated in any way, but the lighting within the cave gives it a mysterious and a calm ambience. ^v^

I thought you might need some help so I decided to suggest a couple of locations.

Heh. Don't worry, I'm working on it! XD I've been gone for a week. But I should have Chapter 4 of Spanning Time up VERY soon. I just need to finish typing and editing it, which I do simultaneously so it shouldn't take too long. ^^ Glad you like them!

*tackles* Hey Littlecloud! ^^ I know, long time, no see! It's been so long... Heh.

As you can see, I'm on a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 kick. I've got a fair bit of art, some oneshots, and I'm working on another multi-chapter called "Spanning Time" which helps fill in backstory gaps and presents the main plotline from an alternate point of view. Not sure if you've gotten Explorers of Time and Darkness yet and/or gotten through the main plot, but if you have, I'd love for you to look at it all! ^^

I'm sure I will, thanks. I ish a DISNEY NUT! Disney world is like.. my fourth home. First being my actual home, second being the band hall, third being on here.

Talk to you soon, too! I've missed talking to you!

XDD understandable =3 I can't stand trying to draw with markers a whole lot... as far as pens that don't bleed trough and such X( oh what a pain... I use Zig Memory sytem pens... but ther are kinda pricey...

I have PMS and a loaded gun... Now, what did you have to say to me?
~Gorsecloud:iconGorsecloud: May 14, 2008, 6:15:36 PM
Well... in all honesty, my lines are so sketchy I'd have trouble picking out the line I'd want to ink in. I haven't exactly tried it to much recently, I don't really have a lot of pens I'm not afraid would bleed through the paper...

Coloring though, I've had a lot more experience with... I guess it's just I can't achieve the kind of depth or really much of anything that I want with it... Colored pencil is just a medium I don't like as much I guess...
~EquidnaRojo:iconEquidnaRojo: May 14, 2008, 5:10:12 PM
Like what kinda problems? =S just doesn't look right when you nk them, or slips of the pencil type things?

Hey Ghostie! Long time, no see! I didn't know you had a dA account. ^^ Good to see you again!

I'm just... making my way, doing The Restorers fanart and juggling fanfic ideas through the back of my brain, working on getting better and ploughing through the huge pile of homework I got...

Meh...

Ah well. Good to hear from you! ^^ How'd you find me?
